MaMéNo: menopause care designed around each woman
I am Dr Isabelle Van Wuytswinkel, a gynaecologist-obstetrician and physician with specific expertise in menopause care. MaMéNo, a menopause centre in Loverval, is located within the Centre de la Fontaine, in the municipality of Gerpinnes.
The centre was created by my colleague, Dr Pierre Cuvelier, who welcomes me into this clinical setting. He has worked with women for many years and understands the wide range of medical concerns that may affect them. It is within this environment that we developed a pathway dedicated to perimenopause and menopause.
Through my clinical practice and university training in menopause care, I have seen how deeply this stage can affect the body, sleep, intimate life, emotional balance and sometimes even a woman’s sense of recognising herself. These changes are real, but they do not occur in the same way or with the same intensity for every woman.
Our approach forms part of a coordinated medical pathway. Dr Isabelle Rousseau and Dr Myriame Littani, senologists at the Centre de sénologie de Loverval, provide breast-health expertise when an assessment or additional medical opinion is appropriate.
Every woman experiences perimenopause and menopause differently. There is therefore no single answer or treatment for everyone. Care is built around her history, symptoms, medical background, risk factors and priorities. The internet can provide information; a consultation allows us to listen, examine and decide together.
Specific expertise in menopause
This dedicated expertise is the starting point for MaMéNo. Complementary skills within the medical network are involved only when they add meaningful value to the patient’s individual medical situation.
It combines dedicated menopause expertise with complementary medical skills that can be involved when a patient’s situation requires them.
Understand before treating
Fatigue, sleep disturbance, weight changes, intimate discomfort, pain or questions about breast health should not automatically be attributed to menopause. The physician’s role is to analyse the situation, rule out other explanations when necessary and request additional tests or specialist advice when appropriate.
There is no single menopause treatment that is suitable for every woman. Care is built around each patient’s individual medical situation.

A link with hospital practice in Gosselies

A private practice clearly distinct from MaMéNo
