Vaginal PRP: information before consideration

A technique using the patient’s own blood components, considered only after an appropriate consultation and assessment.

Platelet-rich plasma is prepared from the patient’s own blood. After centrifugation, the selected fraction may be used locally in certain situations, following information and consent.

PRP is not a miracle treatment and is not automatically suitable for every intimate concern.

Why is a preliminary consultation needed?

Listening to symptoms, performing a gynaecological examination and checking for infection, lesions or contraindications are essential. This also allows discussion of alternatives and the current state of evidence.

  • Listening to expectations and symptoms
  • Appropriate gynaecological examination
  • Information about uncertain benefits and limitations
  • Individual decision and consent

Frequently asked questions

When might PRP be discussed?

It may be discussed for selected vulvovaginal symptoms, but only after considering possible causes and established treatments.

Are results guaranteed?

No. Responses vary and scientific evidence continues to evolve. This uncertainty should be clearly discussed.

General information never replaces a consultation tailored to your situation.
